Abstract

Experience as an education leader has broadened Muhammad Natsir's perspective on education. Even long before that, on June 17, 1934, he delivered his speech at a meeting of the Islamic Association, the content of which said that the advancement or retreat of a group of people depended in large part on the lessons and education that prevailed among them. The purpose and use of this research is to find out, research, analyze, and conclude, Islamic Education Thought in Muhammad Natsir's Perspective. Knowing the development of educational thought in Muhammad Natsir's perspective on Islamic education. Knowing the impact of Islamic education thought in Muhammad Narsir's perspective on Islamic educational institutions. This research uses historical and descriptive methods. The historical method is an attempt to reconstruct the past systematically and objectively by collecting, assessing and verifying and synthesizing evidence to establish facts and reach conclusions that can be defended in relation to certain hypotheses. Descriptive method is a method used to systematically describe the facts and characteristics of a particular population or a particular field. The results of this study prove that the role of Islamic education is very necessary in solving problems that occur in society. While the concept of Islamic education in Muhammad Natsir's perspective is that Islamic education must be based on the principle of monotheism as the basis of faith which is reflected in the behavior of his life, and in the context of self-servitude to Allah alone which is summed up in the shahadah sentence, therefore every Islamic educational institution must be based on a system of Islamic education. education is based on monotheism, namely, belief in the oneness of God as the main principle to strengthen the personal resilience of students in carrying out their humanitarian duties as servants of Allah SWT. That Islamic Education Institutions must make educational innovation efforts by fulfilling the requirements to be accepted among local, regional and even international communities. This means that Islamic Educational Institutions must provide education and teaching whose teaching materials are designed in such a way as to provide maturity to their students in mastering general knowledge and the ability to think in a comprehensive, total, and integral way with the foundation of monotheism.
